I think your pedagogy and research will remain top notch, even without viewing these films. My only movie restrictions are zombie films. Ever since my brother convinced me to watch Romero's zombie trilogy at the tender age of 8, I have been permanently scarred. Any time I watch a zombie film I have graphic, horrifying nightmares for weeks (literally weeks). The final straw was THE DAWN OF THE DEAD remake with Sarah Polly. I haven't seen a zombie movie since (as much as I'd like to) and my dreams have been fairly zombie-free.
