Unmuzzled Thoughts derives its name from Act 3, scene 1 of Shakespeare’s cross-dressing comedy Twelfth Night:
Have you not set mine honour at the stake
And baited it with all the unmuzzled thoughts
That tyrannous heart can think? To one of your receiving
Enough is shown: a cypress, not a bosom,
Hideth my heart. So, let me hear you speak.
While the phrase unmuzzled thoughts and the words surrounding it (e.g., stake, bait) call to mind the horrific and inexplicable “sport” of bear-baiting, they rather nicely describe the overall intent of blogging: to express one’s opinions in an unfettered manner.
